Today's law firms are looking at ways of increasing efficiency - while
maintain the highest levels of professional service. That's why so many firms in
the UK have been following the outsourcing success story with increasing
interest.
What began as the outsourcing of office services in the 1990s in
New York has spread to the United Kingdom. Today, over 75 per cent of New York
law firms outsource some or all of their administrative services, while more UK
firms are examining the sense of using outsourced administration within the
office.
Intelligent Office's management team cut its
teeth in New York, providing managed office services to Wall Street law
firms and investment banks. Inspired by this success, Chief Executive Margaret Lang returned to the United Kingdom with plans to replicate this business. In 2001, she launched the concept of managed office services to the UK market place under the Docuserve brand. From the start, the decision-makers inside legal firms liked what was being done.
The business expanded rapidly servicing leading law
firms and financial services businesses in Scotland and England. In January
2006, the company was re-branded, changing its name to Intelligent Office UK to reflect the broader range of services now available to clients. The business has continued its growth - and in the face of an economic downturn represents a viable and effective option for legal firms throughout the UK.
